Time to Form Ranks

The first nine months of this year have been focused on the individual. God has been aligning ourselves with Him so that we might step into this new apostolic move of God that He is preparing us for. We are about to see a great light emerge as the apostles arise to govern as God has called them to do. Now we are entering a time of alignment with one another.

God is showing us what relationships we must break off. He is showing us what new relationships must form. And He is showing us relationships that need to change. The Lord showed me that this is a time to form ranks. This is a time in which we must determine who we are going to run with. Who has our backs? Who are we supposed to live in covenant with during this next season and even for the rest of our life?

The Roman army was the most disciplined military force the world has ever seen. They were powerful because of their unity- for they fought as one man. The Romans had a battle formation called the turtle. In this formation they would hold their shields on all four sides in a perfect square and others would hold their shields overhead. With this they were able to walk right up to a walled city without incurring casualties from arrows. This was a powerful formation but was only powerful if each and every soldier operated in unity. If one man dropped his shield then an arrow could kill him or someone next to him which would result in the entire unit being exposed to enemy fire.

God is calling us to fight with this same kind of unity today. We are called to have the backs of those who we are fighting alongside of. We are meant to watch their blindspots. We need to have those around us who will see the things in our lives that we can't. But if we lose our unity we can all be destroyed. It is for this exact reason why the enemy attacks our unity with such a vengeance. Unity is one of the most powerful weapons that we have in our spiritual lives.

We must surround ourselves who are in proper alignment with what God is doing in their lives. If they are not in alignment then it exposes them to greater attack of the enemy. In the same way we must close the gaps in our own armor. We can't have compromise in our lives for it doesn't just threaten us but also those around us. We must take the quest for purity seriously. If we fall, in a particular area of our life, then we are exposing those around us as well. As leaders, who are acting as authorities and coverings, this is even more true. We receive the fruits of those who God has placed over us.

Ask the Lord to show you who is part of your unit during this next season. Be intentional with the relationships you are forming. Be purposeful with who you are in partnership with. At the same time don't be fearful- no one is perfect. Sometimes you will be brought into someone's life so that you might watch over a shortcoming that they have just as they will have your back.

We are entering a time of the pack. My spiritual father, Jonathan Ngai, was sharing this recently. He has been studying lions extensivly lately. When a lion brings down a prey the entire pride will then descend on the kill to share it. In the same way God is raising us up to live in covenant community like the lions. When we see God moving we must descend upon that move of God. It doesn't matter who that move is coming through. If my covenant brother or sister is experiencing a breakthrough in their sphere I must treat it as my own. Their victories are my victories. If we come into this reality we will see a breakthrough like no one has seen before.

The Year of the Campus

God is stirring things up once again on the university campuses of North America. We are seeing the stirring of a mighty revival and a harvest of souls the likes that has not been seen before. Most revivals and moves of God throughout history have come through the young people.

I am seeing more and more men and women of God turning their eyes towards the campuses during this time. God has placed me back on the campus for this coming year- I have not been involved on the campus since I was a student. I am seeing such a charged atmosphere and an increased unity within the university prayer movement. I'm seeing the spiritual climates over the campuses shift. As I write this I am sitting at Cal State Fullerton, my alma mater. I have not set foot on this campus in almost two years. I feel such a mighty harvest ready to erupt from this place- and I know that there are many other campuses in the same position.

I feel the Lord saying that He is going to reveal the heart of the Father to the lost. We are going to see radical demonstrations of Father's love through signs and wonders. Many will come to Christ as they see that they can have an intimate relationship with the Father God. We are going to see many of God's people step out in faith as there will be a new move of power evangelism. No longer will evangelism be done in the word only. It will be accomplished through word and deed. We are seeing a marrying of the word and the Spirit.

I see more and more open-air demonstrations. I see open-air worship becoming commonplace. As the saints gather to worship they will release Father's love. They will create portals of God's Presence. The darkest places will become places of great light and freedom. The spirit of death will be broken and voices of life raised up in its place.

We are seeing heaven invade the campus. As we see this heavenly invasion we will see a harvest of souls. This initial harvest will simply be a first fruits and will lead to an even mightier harvest. I see international students coming to Christ and going back to their home countries to release transformation.

This is a move that will carry the prayer DNA of the Moravians, the simplicity and passion of the Jesus People, the cultural transformation of the 1st and 2nd Great Awakenings, the power of the Healing Revivals, and the purity of Peter and Paul. We will see stadiums filled because the college quads will not be able to hold this move of God. This move upon the campuses is a major component of the end-time revival. I believe that many of the end-time generals will receive their salvation, baptism, and training upon the campuses. This is a wave that will serve to usher in an even greater outpouring. We will see the harvesters arise!

Munday Martin: We Are Being Awakened

The following is a word by Munday Martin. Munday is a powerful evangelist who moves in complete humility. I share this word because he describes much of what I have been seeing and sensing but he does in such an articulate way. I encourage all of you to read this and to pray it forth during your times of intercession.

We are in the midst of a major shift in the United States of America.

Acts 2 promises when God pours out His Spirit, "young men shall see visions." I know this is true, because 12 years ago, I was one of those young men in Nashville, Tennessee, lost in despair. God gave me a vision of Heaven and Hell that caused me to repent from my backsliding and come to Christ with a radical evangelical calling. God is about to release these types of encounters on mass scale to the lost sheep of America. Church, begin to decree them. It is time, as sons and daughters of God, to, "Decree a thing and it will be established" (Job 22:28).

Believers, knowing their seat of authority, are being awakened. We are entering into the time of the Greatest Awakening that America has ever seen. I am ready for it! No matter what is happening in the economy, the political world, or the educational system...light is about to shine the brightest when times are getting the darkest.

We as American Believers often hear about how God is mightily moving in other nations. Thereafter, there seems to linger in our minds a stigma that God moves more in other nations than He does in America. However, I can honestly say that some of the greatest miracles I have ever witnessed have been right here in the United States of America. I believe this is the hour where America is going to begin to see many more people raised from the dead, spiritually and physically. As I pondered on this, the Lord told me, "Sleeping beauty is about to awaken in America at this hour."

God's love is going to so awaken culture around us that even many of the stars are going to be swept into the Kingdom in Hollywood!

At this hour, competition in the Church will have to end because it simply cannot bear fruit that will remain. A culture of honor will have to be implemented instead in churches all over this great nation. No ministry will be able to showcase the miracles that happened yesterday, because so many miracles will be happening today in a generation that the Lord is raising up quickly in the glory.

Paradigm shifts of how we view ministry are changing. It will not just be people in full-time vocational ministries leading this awakening, it will be people in every sphere of influence in the marketplace, and all the margins of society will feel the vibrations. Many lost in the mires of deep sin in the media and social networking world are going to hear the Gospel and become new creations after hearing the Good News, turning from their sins and submitting their lives to Jesus Christ. Resources are coming to the Body of Christ in Jesus' name to make this happen!

"The American Church Is Simply Getting Back Something That Rightfully Belongs To Us"

What was the previous state of America during the first Great Awakening? This paragraph taken from Wake Forest University's website states, "The Great Awakening was a watershed event in the life of the American people. Before it was over, it had swept the colonies of the Eastern seaboard, transforming the social and religious life of land. Although the name is slightly misleading – the Great Awakening was not one continuous revival, rather it was several revivals in a variety of locations – it says a great deal about the state of religion in the colonies. For the simple reality is that one cannot be awakened unless you have fallen asleep."

God is going to shed light on anything that has distracted us from seeing world evangelism spread like wild fire. The Church is about to get back to the basics. It is time to go make fishers of men, not just keepers of the aquarium. To put it plainly, the American Church is simply getting back something that rightfully belongs to us. The Gospel of power is winning the lost to Christ much like what the disciples carried at the day of Pentecost.

Healing, miracles, signs, wonders, and salvations will follow the preaching of the Gospel! Just as in the days of The Great Awakening, it will not be limited to one region or city. It will be cities all over! It will be a restoration of the day of Pentecost where in one day 3,000 believed in Jesus; so shall these "one day occurrences" happen again. We are getting ready to see in one day many ministries reporting, "In one day, we saw thousands of salvations!"

The Bible says, "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him" (Acts 10:38).

Now we know this about Christ, and we love it! But do we know we can have it too? Much of the Body does not realize that Jesus said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father" (John 14:12).

The greater works are now here. He is getting us ready for global harvest glory. It is for reaching the lost! It will sweep the arts, and it will sweep through entertainment! We are getting ready to see stadiums filled again as in the days of Billy Graham's early ministry. There will be altar calls for salvation, as well as baptisms of fire and the Holy Spirit. It will be tongues of fire, shakings, healings, signs, wonders, and miracles pouring out on young and old! Music will be a major key in this awakening. Songs will be written that will cause Believers to make history, causing a Jesus revolution.

Just as in the days of John the Baptist, John was a forerunner preparing the way of the Lord. God said, "Watch the Scripture; as John the Baptist said, "I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh...He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire" (Luke 3:16).

God says, "The forerunners have FAITHFULLY done their job, and the changing of the guard is upon us. I am raising up an emerging army of youth filled with grace and truth. There will come at this time the 'mighty ones,' and He (the Lord Jesus Christ) will baptize this nation of America, in stadiums, with the Holy Ghost and fire! America, a media revival is upon you...and THE STADIUMS WILL BE FILLED AGAIN...this time, with fire!"

Watch Where There Is Drought Upon the Land, For That Is Where You Will See Wild Fires in the Spirit

Drought upon the land: Watch, even the places where drought has been ravaging the land; it is there that you will see this baptism of God's fire pour out and the wild fires will break out in the Spirit!

We all know that California's economy has suffered tremendously from forest fire damage in the past decade, and from water drought, but God says He is purging this state and getting ready to ignite the State of California again in a dry and thirsty land! It will be again! Even in the same city where the Azusa Street Revival occurred, there will be another Revival of Los Angeles. Many in the sphere of Hollywood will see a new movement in media! They will see their actor friends come to the Lord. They will see producers of films turn to Christ, musicians of bands, and even a subculture of body pierced and tattooed lost boys and girls will all begin to call upon the name of the Lord. Homosexuals will be delivered and turn to Christ. Gangster rappers! Country stars! In this time, many will come to the knowledge of Jesus. There is a Greater Awakening upon us, there is a greater Jesus movement on the horizon!

I see parking lots of concert venues being filled with young people leading a new healing revival in the streets. I see people flocking to California again as in the summer of love, but this time not for drugs, not for new age, but because they hear JESUS IS MOVING IN CALIFORNIA, San Francisco, Redding, Los Angeles, Orange County, Palm Springs, Anaheim and surrounding cities! This time they will come not to find drugs but to find out how to be free from them; not to find perversion, but how to be free from it; not to find a lover, but to find the Lover of their souls – the Lord Jesus Christ!

"The western U.S. is getting ready for a great move of My Spirit," says the Lord.

Nevada it is your time! Arizona it is your time!

There will come mighty ones, and HE (The Lord Jesus Christ) will baptize people publicly all over America in the stadiums, and in a Media Revival, with the Holy Ghost and with fire.

We say YES to it, Jesus, in Your precious name.

I Know, but He/She Doesn't Know Yet. How Do I Pray?

This is the third installment of my series about discovering and waiting for your future spouse. Please read my previous posts "Lessons From Isaac and Rebecca" and "Did God Really Tell Me Who I'm Supposed to Marry?" Once God speaks to you there must be action. God always has a reason behind His revelation to His people. First you must determine if you have truly heard from God in this area. If you have heard from God then it is either so that you may act on it or so that you may pray it forth.

Discern from God if action is needed. If you're a guy then you have it easier as men are the initiators. Pray that God would show you the proper time to make a move and pursue this woman that God has shown you. Remain faithful to God's timing. Don't allow this woman to become an idol. Remain faithful to the Father's business. Don't use the word of the Lord to manipulate her. She must also hear from God herself. If you go up to her and declare that it is the Lord's will for the two of you, to date/marry/court/have babies, it makes it so that she can't say no without saying no to the declared word of the Lord. Remember that we always have free will. Even if God showed up in person with the archangel Gabriel, so that you would know His will beyond a shadow of a doubt, He must still speak to her directly.

If you're a woman then you must be patient. Don't try to initiate. Pursue a brotherly/sisterly relationship and allow God to show this man in God's timing- not yours. If you try to rush it you will most likely ruin it. Allow God to speak to you and maintain a heart of surrender before Him so that you might hear His voice.

How can we pray? Prayer is the most important key. We must maintain a heart of tenderness to what the Holy Spirit is telling us. It becomes witchcraft once we start declaring things into the atmosphere from a heart that is hardened to what the Holy Spirit is saying. Do you know those times when you don't want to hear the Holy Spirit because you're afraid that He might say something that is contradictory with what your heart wants? That is a hardened heart. You must be aware that what might have been proper for a season can shift. We must be careful that we are truly praying forth the Lord's will and not praying our own will. I know too many people who have been stuck in their own desire, unwilling to surrender, and have missed the Lord's best in their lives because their heart was hardened to His voice.

There was a woman who was in love with me. She was convinced that God had spoken to her about our marriage. I knew that she was not a good fit for me but still brought it to God and did not receive any confirmation from Him. He showed me that she would not be the type of wife that I need to accomplish my destiny. But she kept on praying that God would open my eyes as He did hers. She did this despite the fact that our pastors, her sisters in Christ, and everybody around her believed that she had misheard God. She had hardened her heart to the Lord's voice and took every little thing as a confirmation even when it wasn't. I felt her prayers and had to in turn pray against them because it had become manipulation which is a form of witchcraft. Don't fall into this trap- listen to those around you.

I know another woman who believes that God has spoken to her about her husband. The guy has no clue and they've met only once. But this woman just continues to pray blessing over him and his ministry. She prays that God would give him clarity in hearing His voice in regards to marriage. She prays that God would show this man His will in His proper timing. This is good for it is partnering with God and her heart is still surrendered before God. She wants God's will for her life and isn't trying to impose her own will on God.

This is such a messy issue because it involves the free will of two different people. Things can shift. Decisions I make can affect the other person and decisions that they make can change things. Just because a marriage or relationship might have been good and perfect doesn't mean that it is always that way. Sometimes we have to do things in our lives so that we might be the type of person that we need to be. So be receptive to what the Lord is telling. Things can shift depending on your actions and decisions just as they can shift on the other person's choices. Don't make the idea of marrying someone an idol so you can no longer hear the Lord's voice in that area. Be receptive to whatever the Lord may tell you- He has your best in mind and will accomplish all things in His perfect timing.

5773: The Year of the Divine Eye

We have just entered into the Hebraic year 5773. There is a power in the Jewish calendar and as we become more aware of the Jewish seasons we will grow in spiritual sensitivity and discernment in regards to what is going on in the spirit realm. There is an incredible power released in the time around Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) and Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement). This is the most holy time of the Jewish calendar. We have to understand that the Jewish holidays were, for the most part, divinely inspired by God.

This decade (the 5770's) has been termed the decade of the eyes. The number three is significant of the Godhead. I felt the Lord say that we are entering into the year of the Divine Eye. God is bringing His people into the place where we will see things as He sees them. Our eyesight is coming into alignment with the viewpoint of heaven. No longer are we going to be held back by our physical eyesight but the blinders are coming off. We are in a year of government (2012) and are being prepared for a time of great warfare for the control of the Church. We must allow our eyes to be opened so that we see things as God sees them. We are Christ's ambassadors on this earth. If we are ruling with Christ it is imperative that we have His viewpoint as our viewpoint. An ambassador doesn't represent his own interests but those of the authority that has sent him.

The Lord is opening our eyes during this time. This is a season in which God is asking us to come up into the heavenlies. There is an invitation to each and every one of us to ascend into the place of glory and revelation as John did in Revelation. God is sharing His vision with us. He wants to partner with us and show us His glory, love, and power. He wants to reveal the secrets of heaven to us.

The remainder of September is a time of birthing and vision. The month of October is a time of aligning as we come into position with what God is doing. Part of this aligning of vision is a purifying of the eye gate. Ask the Lord to show you what things have come against your spiritual vision. Ask the Lord to cleanse your eye gates and spiritual perception. Ask Him to reveal if there is anything that is keeping you from seeing with unobstructed vision. Ask the Lord to give you a sensitivity within the spirit realm. This is a time of grace for cleansing. This is a time when the obstructions and blinders that the enemy has tried to put in front of you will fall away. We have entered into the time of the Divine Eye!

Light is Chasing Out Darkness

Did God really tell me who I'm supposed to marry?

This is a followup to my previous post "Lessons from Isaac and Rebecca." In the charasmatic and pentacostal movements we often encounter those who believe that God has spoken to them about who they are supposed to marry. I love the prophetic and I believe that all of us should learn to recognize the voice and heart of God within our lives. But this area of romance is one of the trickiest in which to hear God clearly. Our emotions are so tied to this area- more than probably any other area within our life. Because of this we must be so careful in how we proceed once we receive what we think is a word from God in this area. When we hear a word from God regarding who we should marry there are the following possiblities:

1. It is actually from God. This is usually what we want it to be. Even here we have to be careful to proceed with wisdom. I believe that we almost always have free will when it comes to who we shall marry. The other person has the choice to accept you or not. Don't manipulate them by sharing your word. This gets creepy.... Take it from someone who has been on the receiving end of that. Just go into the secret place and ask God to reveal His perfect will in His perfect timing. And don't be so wedded (pun intended) to the idea of marrying this person that it becomes obbsesive. If it is meant to be then all will work together in time. We need to be aware of the fact that  it also depends on the other person to exercise their free will.

2. It is not from God. It's your own flesh, emotions, etc. In this case it might still be within the will of God but should be eased into with extreme caution. This is where soul-ties might need to be cut that are clouding your discernment. This can be very dangerous as I have seen Godly men and women, who know the voice of God, get tripped up in this area. I have seen a misunderstood word turn into an obsession. I have been on both ends of this, as the one who thought I had a word, and as the one who was someone's "promised one". This is why it is never good to tell someone that you had a dream, vision, etc about them as a spouse. Most dreams and visions, of marriage, are out of the soulish realm and are not of God. When we are an intercessor for someone there is a deep connection in the spirit that can often lead to an intense love. We must understand that this love is purely for intercession and is not meant to lead to romance. If we don't recognize the source and type of love that we have for someone it can be quite confusing.

3. It's God but misinterpreted. I have been the recipient of this misunderstanding. I have seen people who powerfully move in the prophetic get messed up because of this. One time I had a prophetic person pick up on something between me and my sister (can we say eww?). Another time I was praying for a woman, in a service, and as I touched her forehead she fell out in the power of the Holy Spirit and heard the word "covenant." She was confused and thought that it meant marriage when in actuality I was symbolic of a youth prophetic movement that she was supposed to intercede for. Another time I heard the Lord say that I was going to marry a particular person. I thought this was a directional word but in actuality was a warning that if I didn't guard myself then that friendship was going to end up there- which would have been bad for both of us.

The vast majority of the time, when someone thinks that they have heard God speaking to them about who they are supposed to marry, it turns out to be wrong. I know of one pastor who had five of his intercessors come up to him with dreams and visions of them marrying him. Another pastor had three women write to him, while he was engaged, that he was making a big mistake and that they were God's chosen bride for him. We need to have pure hearts in this area and must be aware of our need for healing in this area. For this reason we should never tell someone of a dream, vision, or word- let God speak to them.

In an upcoming post I will cover how we should pray into our future spouse once we do receive revelation. Because, eventually God will show us who our intended spouse is. Sometimes it will be before a dating relationship- sometimes He will use the process of dating to reveal it. But we must learn on how to respond once we do receive revelation and not be afraid to pray, within the guidance of the Spirit, into what God has given us.
